What is the differance between the command " dialer load-threshold 3 either" and "multilink load-threshold 3 either".

I was configuring an ISDN BRI interface in a cisco router to bring up the second B channel with multilink enabled. I know what the dialer load-threshold command does. I found the command multilink load-threshold but am unable to find documentation on how it might differ from the other command. I'm running 12.1(5)T10 code.

Before the ppp multilink load-threshold, multilink ppp

would bring up all b channels in the bundle for

any volume of traffic. With the addition of this command multilink ppp

would bring up enough b-channels or interface bandwidth aggregation enough to

forward the traffic load that has passed a threshold or tear down interfaces or b channels if

traffic load falls below the threshold.

dial load threshold on the other hand was to

allow a dialer do load balancing on as needed basis ( based on traffic load). B channels are

brought up or town down based on threshold crossing. PPP multilink on the other hand was

another option for dialer interfaces which would cause

all chanels under the dialer control to be brought up for even on packet which

explain the command explain above.
