what is the differents between cisco's rmon implementation and swithcprobe? Do the two term describe the same thing?

Cisco no longer sells the switchprobes.

There is a basic diffn. in RMON & Switch Probe. RMON requires the data for Protocol & performance Monitoring of the Devices, where as the probe is the device which gathers the DATA while you put it into one of the port on the device.
