What is the proper way to remove a backup interface dialer from a serial interface

I use ISDN for backup purposes if one of my Frame relay sub-interfaces goes down. I am trying to remove the "backup interface dialer " command from my serial sub-interface because I want to move it to another interface on my router. Everytime I remove the line the dialer tries to dial. What is the proper way to remove it ?

You are doing it correctly. When

you remove the command, the dialer

interface goes from "standby" to

"up/up (spoofing)", which means that

if there is interesting traffic

according to your config it will dial.

If you add the backup command to the

other interface, the dialer should go

back into "standby" and all will be

well.
