What would cause my (2610) ethernet 0/0 connected to a 3524xl port 24 to cycle up and down?

I have a 2610 router connected to a 3524xl switch. One side of the 2610 is connected via a serial 0/0 (T-1) to our LAN,the other side is connected to the 3524xl via a ethernet connection. The Ethernet 0/0 is cycling up and down. I have tried changing cables, and switched from port 24 to 23 on the 3524xl. Does this seem like a hardware issue or could it something else? Of course the link light will go out each down cycle.

It looks like you have a speed or duplex miss match on the switch.

set the swicthport speed and duplex manually

and make sure its the same with that configured on the

c2600

e.g

use this command on both router and switch

(config)#speed 100

(config)#duplex full

2. if router is connected as host on the switch, please use a straight ethernet rj45 utp type 5 cable.
