What would cause the Last Called Time to reset after 30 seconds

We see the Last Called Time climb upto 30 seconds and then reset to 0. But we are sure teh router is not dropping and making calls. The ISDN PRI-toBRI connection is up all the time and there is not call drop and re-dial, but we see this Last Called Time counts upto 30 seconds and resets to zero for no apparent reason.

Can't do any debugs on this production router.

Re: What would cause the Last Called Time to reset after 30 seco

Could the reason be because this router has a PRI interface and the called router has a BRI interface. This router doesn't know that the called router has a BRI interface and is therefore just going to keep calling trying to bring up a 3rd channel.

I think that you have a 'permit any' defined in your dialer-list. EIGRP hello's are causing your line to flap. You can see this from the dest address of 224.0.0.10 above. Make an access-list similar to below

then apply it to a dialer list

dialer list 1 protocol ip list 101

access-list 101 deny ip any 224.0.0.0 0.255.255.255 (denies multicast )

access-list 101 deny ip any host 255.255.255.255 (denies broadcast )

access-list 101 deny udp any any eq domain (denies DNS)

access-list 101 deny udp any any eq ntp (Denies NTP )

access-list 101 dent udp any any eq 139 (Denies netbios)

access-list 101 dent udp any any eq 137(Denies netbios)

access-list 101 permit ip any any (permits all other traffic)
