i want to upgrade my ios from c3660-i-mz.120-7.xk2 to a recent release, but i don't know which version should i choose. And i have try many time, such as c3660-i-mz.122-8.t.bin and c3660-i-mz.120-7.xk3,but failed.

when i use the command "copy tftp flash" ,i receive a warning in my log console: warning: is not excutabe for this system. And my tftp server program is closed by the operation system.

So who can tell me which IOS version should i choose?

Thanks!

I would probably be recommending the latest 12.1 code which is in GD status as a measure of its stablility. The file would be

c3660-i-mz.121-17.bin

And it will run with the same amount of flash and DRAM as 12.0.

Upgrading IOS depends a lot on the feature set that you want to have. Looks like your current IOS is "IP Only". I'm more interested in the the console message that you get. Have you got an exact output right from when you star typing "copy tftp flash"?

Unfortunately,i havn't record the output when i typing "copy tftp flash".And both the command "copy tftp flash"and " copy tftp slot0" have the same problem.

But i have got the log file of my cisco tftp server:
