Which version of IP/FW 3DES IOS do I need for 3640 to enable static nat with route-maps? I have c3640-ik9o3s-mz.122-6.bin. It is not supported in this version.

Our 3640 works as a firewall. We have a couple of Nat translation entries:

2 dynamic ( one to internet, the other with overload on the route to the partner company in London)

We want to add static translations with the route map to allow a few internal hosts to access another company over the leased line (256Kb made of 4 channels of E1). They should be able to access internet at the same time.

I found the document describing my implementation needs: NAT - Ability to Use Route Maps with Static Translations. It lists Release 12.2(4)T as the first realise with the above feature. I am running 12.2(6)

When I try to enter the command:

ip nat inside source static mylocal-ip myglobal-ip route-map My-Map

it doesn't recognize the command.

Which software image do I need?

My show version output:

System image file is "flash:c3640-ik9o3s-mz.122-6.bin"

Re: Which version of IP/FW 3DES IOS do I need for 3640 to enable

Try one of these options: 12.2(8)T,

12.2(4)T, 12.2(4)T3, 12.2(4)T1

with IP/FW/IDS PLUS IPSEC 3DES feature set and be sure enough DRAM and FLASH are available on your router.
