Who’s using my bandwidth?

How can I determine, when I'm having high network utilization, who’s occupying my Bandwidth. How can I find the IP or MAC address of the user consuming the pipe?

Can I do this from my router?

Re: Who’s using my bandwidth?

I use Wild Packets EtherPeek for ethernet traffic. If it's a serial link or other type then look at Sniffer.

Re: Who’s using my bandwidth?

read about and try using IP accounting. With this IOS command you can see which machine is responsible for congestion.

Take in mind that while IP accounting is running it slows down the performance a bit.

Hope this might help you out.
