Re: why flash read only" error message

Your problem description is a bit confusing. When your router always boots in rommon, how did you do

a show ver or try copy tftp flash?

What type of router is it anyway?

Re: why flash read only" error message

I had the same problem where I had to replace the flash.

Re: why flash read only" error message

the other option might be

partition flash 2 4 4

and load a real skinny ios on it.

Your idea is better

Re: why flash read only" error message

So its the ancient IGS box. To me, looks like you have to upgrade the bootroms to make your flash

read-write both. In some cases, it could be a bad flash too.
