Hello

Is it right, that dense-mode just has (S,G) entries and the (*,G) entries are used only for sparse mode?

any input is very welcome

Source Distribution Tree, uses (S,G) notation, while Shared Distribution Tree uses (*,G) notation(PIM RP).

PIM-DM(Dense Mode) can only support source trees(S,G) entries. It cannot be used to build a shared distribution tree. PIM-SM(Sparse Mode) uses a shared tree to distribute the information about active sources
