why isn't there any log for serial interface when ISDN kick in, in the log file

Currently having a ISDN(BRI) backup when Leased line in down. Both interface is different but resides in the same router. In the log file, it shows that the isdn kick in but it did not indicate any serial interface down , why?

Re: why isn't there any log for serial interface when ISDN kick

Make sure that logging is not disabled

on the serial interface. Otherwise, if

you are using anything besides the

"backup interface" command to provide

backup (ie dialer watch, floating static

routes, etc) then it could be that

dialing occurred due to your config. You

can enable "debug dialer" to see what

traffic caused dialing to occur.
