Why the CRC errors happened when reboot a router?

Hi,

In our network, a router Cisco 2621 is connected to a switch Cisco Catalyst 2924 by Ethernet card. The interfaces of 2 sides are fixed to 100 Mbps and full-duplex. After I shutdown and reboot the router, the CRC errors happened on the Ethernet interface. What is the reason? Should I reset the port of the switch at the same time to prevent the CRC errors?

Thanks.

Cant clearly say why it could have happened, May be you want to clear interface counters, and monitor your router to see if the CRC errors are increasing. If this happens momentarily, i dont think it would be much of a concern.

If this is happening as the router is rebooting I would not worry about it. I believe it is because the switch has the speed hard-coded but the router doesn't until it reaches a state whereby it has read the config file near the end of the boot cycle.
