Why the packets on both directions are not shown?

On a router an access list was coded to limit the debug ip packet to some packets that went through the router.

Even though the messages were not shown, from the access list counts it does looks like they went through, is this the expected behavior?

the log follows,

router#sh access-l

Extended IP access list 100

permit ip host 10.16.4.80 host 10.20.0.2 (15 matches)

permit ip host 10.20.0.2 host 10.16.4.80 (11 matches)

router#sh deb

Generic IP:

IP packet debugging is on for access list 100

router#terminal monit

Re: Why the packets on both directions are not shown?

You need to disable fast switching

to see all the debug messages which

match the access-lists. "no ip

route-cache"; certainly you should only

temporarily disable FS on the interfaces

you are interested in.
