I found that UserTracking can capture MAC info. from the switch port which individu VLAN has been assigned, but can not capture MAC from the switch port which was configured as trunk. Why? As I know the switch actrually maintain a MAC table with info like MAC address, switch port, VLAN, ageout time.
If this can not be done, how User Tracking to track those MAC connected to other vendor switches, which was connected to Catalyst switches through dot1q trunk?
Thanks

UT does not look at Trunk Ports by design.

User Tracking is designed to track MAC addresses connected to Cisco switches.
If a port is configured as a trunk, then User Tracking knows that there is no
user plugged into that port.
