Will not lose line protocol

I have two 2600 routers back to back with a cross over cable between them. If I pull out the plug on one end I lose line protocol on the other. If I try this the opposite test the second router does not lose line protocol. Both routers have keepalives set at 10. Any Ideas, could this be normal?

Re: Will not lose line protocol

What kind of interface you are testing it on? Serial, ethernet ??

The line protocol should be down once 3 keepalive (or 5 in case of ppp) missed in a row. Try to debug that keepalive trace and see the results..
