With a WS-X4232-L3 module in a Catalyst 4000, do you still need an external router? If not, how do you configure the routing engine?

If the WS-X4232-L3 is the routing engine, then how do you configure it to route or do you still need an external router connected to the Catalyst 4000? If the WS-X4232-L3 is the router then which document specifies the routing commands?

no you don't need the external router to do any routing. it can be done using this module.

Here is the config sample.
