Would this work ?

I have a Domain Controller Server, with NIC teaming, physically connected to both Layer 3 switch routers with this configuration in HSRP.

Router A

interface vlan 20

ip address 192.168.2.2 255.255.255.0

standby 1 ip 192.168.2.1

standby 1 timers 5 15

standby 1 priority 100

standby 1 preempt

Router B

interface vlan 20

ip address 192.168.2.3 255.255.255.0

standby 1 ip 192.168.2.1

standby 1 timers 5 15

standby 1 priority 110

standby 1 preempt

I want to connect the server to ports 6 on both Layer 3 Switch Routers A & B

Add Port 6 on both Routers to Vlan 20.

Would this work ?

Re: Would this work ?

Hi,

From routers config and assigning port 6 to VLAn20,it should work as to HSRP.Its up to your domain controller hardware on how to handle failover...

Re: Would this work ?

Hi!

You have a perfect config here for your HSRP needs. Just add port 6 on both the routers to the VLAN 20 and it would work. I see no problems with its working.

Hope it helps.

AbhisheK

P.S - You dont need to specify priority at Router A if you want to keep the priority value 100, as the default priority is 100.
