wrong IP allocation with CNR

A device is asking for an IP address to a CNS server. Once it asks in IP scope A and once in IP scope B.

So when my device with an A IP address goes down then up it asks an IP from B to the server.

My problem is that the server doesn't compare MAC addresses for two different scopes and keeps registered both IP from A and B during the whole lease time, which generates a big waste of IP space.

Any solution for this (with A and B discontigous subnets)?

Thanks

Re: wrong IP allocation with CNR

Are these non-Microsoft, eg. specifically Linux clients as there is a known issue with the way Linux clients see the multicast response (but with the client MAC addr), and generate duplicate requests.

Maybe I'm going down completely the wrong track, what do you mean by a CNS server (Cisco Network Registrar?)
