WS-3550 Layer2/Layer3 switching capabilities

Dear Sirs!

We have two WS-3550 with the same IOS image names, but after

show version (its one of the command output fileld) says that

one have Layer2/Layer3 switching capabilities but other Layer2 switching capabilities only.

Q: Is there problem with other 3550 switch routing capabilites hardware realizations or the problem in it IOS image only?

Best regards,

Nick

Re: WS-3550 Layer2/Layer3 switching capabilities

The show version output always shows the software image running on the switch (Layer 2 or Layer 2/3), the model name shown at the end of this display is the factory configuration (SMI or EMI) and does not change if you upgrade the software image.
