WS-C3750X-24P-S is not booting with c3750e-universalk9-mz.152-1.E1.bin

Oleg Borodich
Level 1
Level 1

According to CISCO, the image is compatiple with WS-C3750X-24P-S however the switch just fails to boot with it.

Here is the error below:

Boot process failed...

The system is unable to boot automatically.  The BOOT

environment variable needs to be set to a bootable

image.

The switch is not booting from USB stick either. The only image that works is c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE3.bin.

If I copy this file to flash, the switch fail over to it. The console's output below (I replaced some lines with <...>):

Switch#dir flash:

You are not helping troubleshooting if you keep redacting the entire bootup process.

Post the entire bootup process.

Another thing ... 15.2(1)SE1????   Are you absolutely NUTS?

Do you actually know how BUGGY this train is?

I'd recommend you either use 12.2(55)SE8 or 15.0(2)SE4.

Sorry for delay, didn't have access to the device. Here is the full log:

It's not loading 15.2(1)E1 probably because it can't find files found in the HTML directory.

Try downloading the TAR file and use the command "archive download-sw tftp:///filename.tar".

Ok, I booted from USBFLASH0: and ran the following:

Good.  Try and see if you can boot the IOS you want using USB.

I don't see anything suspicious.  The only thing I want to ask you is this:  Did you try to install or run the software image for your C3KX-NM-10G?

I had already tried to boot from USBFLASH0 and the only image that works is this version 12.

The same for FLASH - only version 12 works..

I wasn't updating the software image of the module.

When you are in ROMmon, can you post the output to the command "set"?
