I know this is a fabric-enabled module, so it has an 8 Gbps connection to the SFM, a connection to the 32 Gbps switching bus, and a local 16 Gbps switching fabric. It also looks like from the data sheet that there is an 8:1 port-to-ASIC ratio. So I have two questions:
1. Which ASIC is used to interface with the 10/100/1000 ports (Pinnacale, Coil, etc.)?
2. What speed is the connection from each ASIC to the local switching bus?
Thanks,
Zach

Q1. Which ASIC is used to interface with the 10/100/1000 ports (Pinnacale, Coil, etc.)
A: Pinnacle
Q2. What speed is the connection from each ASIC to the local switching bus
A: Six Pinnacle ports support 40G of fabric connection per linecard.

So what is my bottleneck? Does each group of eight (8) 10/100/1000 ports have 1 Gbps aggregate access to the Pinnacle ASIC?
Thanks,
Zach
