Anyone know of any reasons why MAC addresses wouldn't be learned when servers are connected to the 10/100/1000 48 port RJ45 WS-X6548-GE-TX card, when we swap them to a 10/100 RJ45 WS-X6148-RJ-45 card we have no problems.
IOS is 12.1(19)E and the card is supported on this.

Can you paste the output of
remote command switch show platform hardware asicreg revati slot X port, where X is the slot number?
I'm checking to see if you are hitting the following bug

It doesn't seem to like that command:
#remote command switch show platform hardware asicreg revati slot 11 port
Line has invalid autocommand "show platform hardware asicreg revati slot 11 port

Is something connected to this port? If not can you connect a device and if it is having connectivity issues, paste the output of
"sh platform hardware asicreg revati slot 11 port 48 error-count"
The counters are cleared on read
08-20-2003 05:57 AM
There's nothing connected as we had to move the servers off this card onto another 48 port 10/100 card in order to get them to work, but yesterday when we had a laptop connected we saw the issue on a different port in slot11, however it's not on there now.
Just looking at an ARP packet it is 42bytes on the wire, so coule we be looking at the problem described in the bug you mentioned?
08-20-2003 06:37 AM
The counters do not indicate you are hitting this bug. I suggest that connect few devices on the 6548, recreate the problem and open a TAC Case for this one
08-20-2003 07:22 AM
Thanks for your help, we already have a case open.
