Hello all, I'm seeing some ping timeouts and also printer queues getting hung up. I'm thinking that this is a multicast issue due to the fact that I moved the printserver and printer to the same vlan. I have the server on a 4006 (gig) and the printer is on a 100Mb link. I don't have IGMP / CGMP enabled on my switch. Should I ?
Any info. would be appreciated.

Alonzo,
Having IGMP/CGMP enabled or not should not affect your ping responses. Perhaps you should be troubleshooting another issue...What is working v. What isn't working. Were pings to these devices working in their old subnets/vlans? What changes did you make to these devices for the new vlans/subnets?

AS a matter of fact in there old environment we were still getting time-outs so I think I may of jumped to multicasting as a problem prematurely. Lan utilization is low but so I'll keep looking into it.
