Problem solved I guess the flash partition info is somehow corrupted
solution
1.rommon xmodem -r
2.IOS format flash
3.IOS copy xmodem: flash:
If not necessary, don't jerk around with a actual router simulators are pretty much enough for a lot of things

Can you try "xmodem -r" switch/option? This will load the IOS on the DRAM so you can use the IOS to determine what is wrong with your PCMCIA flash cards.

I don't know why I always get bad checksum using xmodem
I don't have a PCMCIA card. The router has 4*16MB DRAM SIMMs and 1*16MB Flash SIMM.
Thanks.I am trying xmodem -r .
BTW Can I download a 16.3MB image to a router using 1*16MB Flash SIMM+1*8MB Flash SIMM
05-17-2010 11:44 PM
Errrr ... That's what the PCMCIA Flash cards are for. The only way to run the IOS is to load it into the DRAM. XModem will get "stuck" because it's trying to write to a media that doesn't exist.
Bad checksum could mean the orginal file you have may and could be corrupt or incomplete.
05-17-2010 11:52 PM
It does have 2 Flash SIMMs,no PCMCIA tho not a router without Flash lol
I have used the images before and it's not likely to happen that both of the images are corrupted.I suspect it's something with Tera Term cuz I've set BAUD to 115200.But it worked fine yesterday.
I am positive that the Flash has an image yesterday.I just switched the SIMMs among 3 3620 routers but it just doesn't work.

Nuts! My brains is currently stuck sometime after the 3rd can of Red Bull. I think I am confusing myself with the 3600 and the 3700.
Yes, the 3600 do have the DRAM and a Flash modules internally.
Again, try using the "-r" switch to determine why the internal flash modules aren't taking the IOS. Maybe your IOS file could be corrupt or incomplete.
