xmodem permission denied

I've seen this problem posted elsewhere, but don't recall a solution....

I'm trying to load the ios to a catalyst 2900XL using the xmodem command. The xmodem file exists in the directory.

However, when I enter the copy xmodem flash:filename command I get an error message stating xmodem permission denied.

I'm executing this command before attempting to transfer from the terminal and am assuming the problem is not directly related to the xmodem function, but file access.

Anyone ever worked through this?

Thanks

Simple solution...

The xmodem command outlined in Document ID: 12036 is ambiguous, or incorrect.

The noted command is:

switch: copy xmodem: Flash:filename

The command that worked on the 2900XL is:

switch: copy xmodem:filename flash:filename
