xmodem problems in router 1721

pls. help me guys!!!

i have a problem with my cisco 1721 router i cannot

find the image only the rommon > prompt appeared.

problems:

"device does not contain a valid magic number."

"boot: cannot open "flash:"

"boot: cannot determine first file name on device

"flash:"

what i did was i used the xmodem, coz i don't have

tftp server, but still i can't download the ios

software image. there's a "timeout waiting for header

-aborting download...." what will i do now?

It means you downloaded the wrong file. it must be *.bin (let say c1721-xx-xxx.bin).

Sev,

You have to request it from authorized cisco dealer/resseller in your country. By the way, is your router is a new one or your just upgrading the IOS?

If you can do the "show version" in your router, get the info and send to cisco.
