Xot: improve convergence

Hi to All,

I have x25 over tcp/ip over this network I need redundacy and high convergence, my configuration:

--12.1(15) C4500-IS-M

service tcp-keepalives-in

service tcp-keepalives-out

..........

x25 route 123456 xot A.B.C.D E.F.G.H

In this case I have redudancy if A.B.C.D goes down with 60 sec (default convergence)

-- 12.1(15) C4500-IS-M

service tcp-keepalives-in

service tcp-keepalives-out

.........

x25 route 123456 xot A.B.C.D E.F.G.H xot-keepalive-period 1 xot-keepalive-tries 3

With the last configuration the convergence it's the same!!!!

Suggestions or any experience?

Thanks you

Stefano

Re: Xot: improve convergence

hi,

if xot cant´t make a connection to the first peer, then it waits 30 sec. before

it tries the second peer.

if you want to make this time (30 sec) less then type:

in global config-mode "ip tcp synwait 10" - so it takes 10 seconds befor the router will try the second peer.

this time can be adjusted from 5 to xy seconds.

xot-keepalive-period 1 means the following:

if one router sees for 3 times 1 second no keepalive from the other side, then t it will tear down the connection.

BUT:

this has nothing to do with the time the router will try to reach a xot-peer if a x25 paket comes and the router goes to the x25 forwarding table !
