1601 booting process

Our Cisco 1601 router is repeatedly failing to resume operations normally whenever powered off or each time after power failure! It constantly boots in ROM Monitor mode and we always have to reset before operations resume normally. Any thoughts/advice about this unusual behavior? Thanks in anticipation.

You have probably checked this but what is your config-register set to ?

The "normal" boot value is #2102

Regards

John

boot value should read 0X2102 sorry, where did that # come from !

Thanks John for your replies. However, the boot value (config-register ) reads exactly 0x2102, reason why the reported behavior is confusing me!

Thanks again for any other comment!

Verify that no console cable is connected to the router when rebooting.

Dear BSeddik,

Thanks for your reaction. Inded, the behavior was observed while a console cable attached to the router.

Regards,

JPac.
