Sure, this should be fine. The limitation is setting two routes for the same destination network to different gateways. Most cases we see where this is a problem is people trying to set to default routes. This is still not supported. However in your case, you are creating a route to x.x.x.x through one destination gateway and to y.y.y.y through another destination gateway. This will work fine.
