I have a client who has a 2611 Router with IOS 12.0. I have looked all over Cisco's web site and cant find how to configure it for Port Forwading. I just need to set up a simply redirection of a port to a internal IP.

Is this not possable on a 2611?

Any help would be great.

Regards,

Zack Harling

TCP or UDP ? If its forwarding out udp datagrams to

a specific host, and, Its not one of the common udp

ports (i.e. dhcp stuff), then, on the inbound interface configure ip helper-address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

whre xxx is the destination address. also configure

ip forward-protocol xxxx where xxxx is the udp port

you wish forwarded.

From your brief description, it is difficult to tell exactly what you are wanting to accomplish. A specific example would be helpful. Perhaps you need to use NAT here - you would assign an address such as 192.168.1.1 to the ethernet0 interface, but when packets hit that address on port 80 they are then sent on/forwarded to another pc. In this fashion, you can have multiple pc's using the same public ip address, just assigned to different ports e.g. 80 for the http server, 21 for the ftp server, etc. If this is what you are shooting for I can dish out some good samples, but specifics would help.

Good luck!
