Good day i am creating a vpn with 300 clients in different remote locations to connect to our servers using a 5530 asa. I was wondering if there is a certain vpn router that is best to use as a hardware client in this setup. The user OS is a thin-client running off a cd so we are unable to store a software vpn client on it.

Did you mean ASA 5520 or ASA 5540. If it is ASA5520, it would support 750 IPSec peers.
The lowest model which would support Hardware client connection to an ASA 5540 is the 800 series routers.

Let me know if this helps

Thanks, yea I meant ASA 5520. So the 800 series would work as hardware clients but their cost is quite high, has anyone used non-cisco routers for this purpose?
