Hello,

We would like to buy 2 "3845 security bundle with AIM-VPN-HPII-PLUS encryption card".

We will activate the "stateful failover for IPSEC" functionnality.

The routers will be connected to at least 50 sub-network (using sub-interface with encapsulation dot1Q).

Each sub interface will be configured with HSRP (IP redundancy).

We assume that we will have between 100 and 1000 simutaneous IPSEC remote access connection.

Do you think that the recommend memory of 64F/256D is enough ?

Is there a way to calculate the memory usage per IPSEC remote connection ?

Does the redundancy functionnality need a lot of memory ? If yes, How much ?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/help.

HP-II supports 2500 tunnels but iam fairly confident that with features like DPD, stateful failover and multiple crypto instances turned on, it would be much lesser. Cant give you any reasoning but out of sheer instinct, i can tell you that i would use it for maximum 500 tunnels not more.
