Going to get a small PIX for training/testing. Not interested in performance (throughput, users etc), DMZs or failover. Is there any other real advantage to go for a 506E over a 501? You can run the same OS on all PIX models can't you?

Hi -
With 501 you either buy a 10 user license or 50 user license. So be careful of this, as this will determine how many connections you can have thru the PIX, best bet is to get the 506E.

Then go for the 501. 506e only supports 2 interfaces, no failover, and no vlan support. If you need vlan/failover/ or a dmz testing environment, go for a 515 or a 520, otherwise, a 501 is fine, provided you can live with the 10 (or 50) user version

well just to add up something and question mark?,
PIX501 latest version can support unlimited users and what is the comparison and stand with PIX-506e beside the processing speed?
