7140 Router as Access VPN box

We are looking at a VPN box which can take care of Access VPN as well as Site to Site VPN. We are looking at 500 Access VPN users and 100 Site to Site VPN. Which is the ideal box to take care of both VPN's. Can a 7140 VPN box take care of this requirement.

Re: 7140 Router as Access VPN box

You can use the Cisco 7140 VPN router for your VPN solution. Do you mean there will be 500 access VPN users at any one time or just altogether?

You must have a very large-scale network to consists of 100 site to site VPN. I will suggest you expand the memory to the supported full 256MB and get the following:

- Integrated Services Module (ISM) for IPSec

- Integrated Services Adapter (ISA)

both ISM and ISA together provides IPSec encryption acceleration delivering up to 3000 tunnels and 140 Mbps 3DES IPSec encryption performance.

Hope my two cents worth will be useful to you. Thanks.

You may want to look at the Cisco 3662 along with the VPN hardware module AIM-VPN/HP and additional memory. This gives you a flexible interface options and can support your requirment of Access and site to site IPsec VPN tunnels.
