I have a pix which is connected to the inside network (y) and the outside is connected to a router that has another network (x). Is it possible for the X network devices to initiate connection to the Y hosts without translation.

I know that the Y network can initiate conversation without translation nat 0 (inside), but can the X users initiate conversation directly to the Y network ip addresses, not sure if nat 0 (outside) or equivalent exist.

Yes you can use nat 0 in conjunction to static with something like

static (inside,outside) xx.xx.xx.xx yy.yy.yy.yy

also nat 0 (outside) does exist. You might also want to look at two way nat
