access to database rules hangs after adding a new rule

After adding a new rule to database rules for the system to prune by age, I have been unable to access the database rule page.

I used the script that ships with VMS 2.2 and the argument 30 -w”d:\temp”

After the rule was added, selecting the admin > database rules causes the page to hang.

Anyone else seen this problem?

Difficult to say without seeing your log files, particularly the IDS_DbAdminAnalyzer.log file. If you can look through this after trying to go to the Event Rule page, and you see database connection type errors or timeouts, then you may be running into a known database issue.

Go here ( and upgrade IDSMC/SecMon to v1.2.3 if you haven't already, then apply the CSCsa09011 patch from the same page.
