Hello,

What do I need to do to allow access behind a firewall for a printer?

Is there a port I need to open up specifically for printers?

TIA,

Gary

It depends on the printer What kind of print service do you need to connect to?

If it's Windows printing you'll need TCP/139 for NT4 or TCP/445 for Win2k.

For LPD, you'll need TCP/515.

For HP Jet Direct Printing, you'll need TCP/9100.

All HP Jet Direct cards/boxes/printers provide LPD print services by default.
