ACS using domain passwords not recognising special characters

We have implemented an ACS solution for dial in users. We use their existing domain passwords for validation, but if a user has any special characters (alt and numerics) in his password, the ACS does not recognise the password.

Is there a solution to this, or is it a limitation on the ACS?

If you are using domain password then ACS doesn't store the password on ACS, hence it doesn't have to recongnize the password. What error message do you see under the Failed Attempt. I would suggest to run ACS in debug mode and get details so that we can further assist. Here is a link that will help you in running ACS in debug mode:
