I know Websense can perform AD-based user filtering, but I've only found information on URL-filtering when Websense is used on the ASA. Can the ASA pass AD user information to Websense so Websense can filter based on user ID? Is there another way to enable user-based filtering on the ASA?
Yes, i have done this many times. The trick is installing Websense correctly. You need to install websense in 'integrated' mode and then choose the type of device websense will connect to i.e. a PIX or ASA ( i think pix is the only choice).
