Advanced Encryption Standard Software Support

This feature is in the plus image and supports the Cisco 831 Ethernet Broadband Router, the Cisco 837 ADSL Broadband Router, and the Cisco 836 ADSL over ISDN Router.

Trying to add a policy with aes returns ..

-Warning: current encryption hardware does not support the configured encryption method

the same goes for transform set.

-router(config)#cr ipse transform-set test esp-aes 128 esp-md5-hmac

WARNING: encryption hardware does not support transform

esp-aes within IPSec transform test

Can anyone tell me if AES is supported or not on a 837 with flash:c837-k9o3sy6-mz.122-13.ZG

Hi,

As per this document,

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps380/products_data_sheet09186a008010e5c5.html

and above error message indicates, that you can still run AES, but it wont use HW accelerator, HW accel. will only support 3DES, so AES will tax cpu.

EP-II/HP-II are the only cards that support AES now, with 12.2.13T code.

thx
