Aggregate bandwith of 2 DSL circuit....possible?

Hi there!

I have 2 dsl line but only one is hooked up to my pix515e, would it be possible to connect my other dsl to boost up speed? if so how would I do that?

Any suggestions are welcome,

Thanks.

Re: Aggregate bandwith of 2 DSL circuit....possible?

Hi

I can try to give you some directions.

Use two ethernet ports on PIX515e and connect them to your DSL circuits. (provided you have multiple ports available)

assign ethernet1 as outside1 as security 0

assign ethernet2 as outside2 as security 1

Use policy based NAT or may be simple NAT per this document

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/iaabu/pix/pix_sw/v_63/config/bafwcfg.htm#1113601

Use two gateways based on IP sceheme some thing like this

route outside1 0.0.0.0 127.0.0.0

route outside2 x.x.x.x x.x.x.x

You need to work on the IP addressing scheme above, so that you can split up the traffic towards internet HALF & HALF.

Re: Aggregate bandwith of 2 DSL circuit....possible?

Hi Nadeem,

thanks for your reply, yes I do have a third interface which is just sitting in my pix, my question is, would it affect my "route outside" command line since the two DSL have the same gateway address, I guess they were pointing to the same router at the ISP side.

Im thinking to split the traffic for those people accessing the network from remote, and those that are local to the network. can it be done?

thanks again!

Hi,

YOu can give it a shot. I am not 100% sure, I thought you are getting two different default gateways.

Thanks
