Apologies for the delay in responding, I don't think you got an answer because we're not 100% sure what you're asking here. Is this connecting with the Cisco VPN client, and using certificates?
The VPN Client uses main mode when using certificates, and aggressive mode when using pre-shared keys. This functionality is not configurable though.
