Re: Alias commands?

Static commands translates source ip address in outgoing traffic (destination in incoming).

alias is a way to translate destination ip address in outgoing traffic. Which means.. if you have an outside host ip address x.x.x.x use the command alias y.y.y.y applied on the inside interface to reach the host through y.y.y.y

It is VERY unstable if you reach the outside host through y.y.y.y and x.x.x.x. The pix would be a little bit confused ...be careful.

Ciao.
