Are there any known issues with clients browsing/mapping network drives when connected via vpn when sitting behind a DSL modem/home network?

I have users running NT and Win98 that are on their on home networks connected via BellSouth DSL. Their IP network does not conflict with our corporate network. They cannot browse or map network drives. Some are using Linksys 4 port DSL modems.

Well, for reliable network browsing capabilities using Microsoft’s NetBios (shared folders and printer’s, etc.) it will be necessary to utilize WINS on your network and point the remote clients to those WINS servers. Browse-mastering (the automatic way) is not reliable over WAN links and can take hours to propagate. As an alternative you can use local LMHOSTS files on the remote clients.
