altiga vpn password recovery

how do you do a password recovery on a altiga c15-c60 vpn concentrator. how is it similair to cisco's 3015 concentrator? i know cisco bought them out in year 2000. but its still a altiga vpn concentrator (it doesn't have the cisco's logo on it). and i can't find any documentation. i have tried ctrl+c like they say for the cisco 3015. but that don't work. i just want to know if there is another way.

Re: altiga vpn password recovery

The C15 is basically the same as the 3015. The password recovery procedure if you're running code greater than 2.5 software is here:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/474/pswdrec_vpn3000.html

If you running 2.5 or less software, then you need to do the following:

1. At the console type " p". This brings you to the pROBE+ prompt.

2. Type "nv 1". This command generates the NVRAM information, which looks something like this:

NVRAM Section Information

NAME SIZE ADDRESS XSUMMED

CHKSUM 00000418 c0000000 Y

PSOS 00000100 c0000418 Y

BOOT 00000200 c0000518 Y

SYSTEM 00000100 c0000718 Y

DIAG 00001000 c0000818 Y

CFG 00000200 c0001818 Y

EVENT 00040030 c0001a18 N

PROBE 00000800 c0041a48 Y

3. Determine the address of the CHKSUM section (in this case c0000000).

4. Type "pm address data" where address is the address of the CHKSUM section and data is any non-zero value. In this example, you would type "pm c0000000 5".

5. Type "prb". This causes the VPN Concentrator to reboot.

6. Rebooting the VPN Concentrator resets the administrator password to the factory default.
