I need for users behind my PIX to use MSM Messenger audio and video. Microsoft says that I need a Universal PlugnPlay firewall in order to do this. I found a lot of articles on PIX UPnP, SIP and so forth but none are very conclusive as to what I need to do.
Are there any new developments on this?
Thanks,
Diego
PS
I am running 6.3(3) on a 515e

With reference to voice networks, the PIX Firewall with 6.1 and above is SIP aware and should work fine with messenger. For more information, please refer to http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk652/tk701/technologies_white_paper09186a0080092946.shtml

Diego,
Any news on your problem? I am having the same issue with Netmeeting and can not seems to get everything to work correctly through a PIX. Did you ever get yours working?
Thanks,
Mike

We needed IM only. No voice or video. This ACL worked for us:
access-list 101 permit udp any any eq 1863
access-list 101 permit tcp any any eq 1863
To do the whole deal you would also need:
access-list 101 permit udp any any eq 6901
access-list 101 permit tcp any any eq 6901
access-list 101 permit tcp any any range 9000 9999
access-list 101 permit udp any any range 5004 65535
A Cisco tech told me that UPnP would be available in V7 of the PIX code but as usual could not give a date when that would be out.
