apache connection to jboss through a PIX, threads go way up on jboss

I was wondering if anyone has seen this one. We had this problem with Sun's iplanet (SunOne) web servers and switched to apache hoping it would go away. The trouble is, when we have low activity our jboss threads spin out of control. They already set the keepalive variable on the application side.

My timeout parameters on the PIX are set to the defaults which seems sufficient. I am running 6.3.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

The problem may be with the VPN client. check for the VPN idle timeout parameters. The problem could be with the SSH timeout also.Recheck the timeout parameters.
