ASA 5500 VPN site to site tunnel dropping phone switch Puzzler

I have a several remote sites connecting to a main site site to site VPN Tunnes. (ASA5510s to ASA5550) All of the have excellent connectivity. (3ms to 50 ms ICMP ping time) The puzzler is I have phone switches connected at these sites. They connect via UDP port 5440. I have intermittent connectivity issues that make no sense. I have looked at trace files and I see normal traffic with a udp port 5440 ping except after a while it starts sending 5-7 requests at a time and then later I get the ACK 5-7 at a time. If I re-IP the remote phone switch all of the issues go away for a while. Is there a way to verify the ASA is caching/hashing traffic? Any way to tell it to leave this UDP port alone? Thank you in advance.
