ASA 5505 bandwidth cap

hi everyone,

can I somehow put a cap on one of the ports of the device in question, in order to limit the avaible bandwith to 2Mbps on that particular port? thanks in advance, all help is greatly appreciated!

I don't know if you can do that on a 5505 since those ports are technically switchports. You should be able to apply a QoS policy against one of the vlan interfaces though. If you know the IP address(es), just define your QoS policy around that using an ACL.

thanks for your reply. So you're saying that QoS is the only way to limit the bandwitdh on those ports? Is there any other device that can do this instead? Thanks again!
