I am trying to build a business case to invest in 5505 for branch offices. I am searching for facts about this appliance performance and quantity sold already in the market.

How many this model has been sold worldwide is probably known to Cisco only, especially for the marketing strategy. You might need to ask your Cisco representative/Account Manager. But I doubt you'll get exact figure (if any).
